Damaged Passports

How can I replace a damaged passport?

If your passport is damaged you are required to apply for a new passport in person by completing an Application for an Australian Passport Overseas form and submitting the relevant supporting documents.

In all cases, you must also provide the damaged passport.

Depending on the severity of the damage, adult applicants may be eligible for a replacement passport (with the same expiry date as the previous passport). The options will be discussed at the time of the appointment depending on how damaged the passport is.
