FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Box Hill Institute takes world class training to Singapore

This week marked the launch and opening of Box Hill Institute Singapore, a new educational centre delivering world class training in the heart of Singapore, a result of over three years working strategically with industry and the Government of Singapore through the Workforce Development Agency.

The facility, incorporating spacious, high tech classrooms and offices, has been appointed with every last detail to prepare work ready graduates and existing workers for industry, delivering innovative and flexible teaching and learning styles.

Box Hill Institute Singapore has been appointed by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency to deliver training that meets the high standards required under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications framework.

The framework is designed to facilitate existing and new workers’ access to adult learning and skills improvement. Importantly, it will also provide career pathways and support the expansion of this critical sector in Singapore.

The focus of training at Box Hill Institute Singapore will be directed toward Community and Social Services. Courses will include: Disability Services; Student Care; Youth Care and Outreach; Protection and Rehabilitation; and Senior Services. The first of these courses will commence on August 11 catering to new entrants and existing workers.

Box Hill Institute Singapore is a further step in the Institute’s global vision, supported by an 80 year history of delivering high quality, industry relevant education and training programs in key markets around the world, but importantly in Singapore, a strategic market and gateway to South East Asia and China.

Box Hill Institute Vice President International, Noel Lyons, looks forward to the challenges and opportunities presented by the project:

“Working closely with the Workforce Development Agency and the Community and Social Services industry sector in Singapore to meet their existing and future human resource development needs is a great responsibility, and one that Box Hill Institute will work hard in partnership to deliver.”
