Update for ANZAC Day Commemoration

Update for ANZAC Day Commemoration

Thursday 23 April 2015

On Saturday 25th April 2015, the Australian and New Zealand communities in Singapore will join others around the world commemorating the 100th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli.

This year’s Anzac Day Dawn Commemorative Service will again be hosted by the Australian and New Zealand High Commissioners.

We are expecting large crowds this year so please plan to arrive early. We suggest you aim to be at the Kranji War Memorial by 6:15am.

The Service will commence at 6:25am sharp at the Kranji War Memorial Cemetery.

The Service will be followed by light refreshments with a Gunfire Breakfast.

This year car parking is only available at the Singapore Turf Club.

The Turf Farm (traditional car park) is not available for any parking. All Car Parks used for Anzac Day Services in previous years are closed.

Electronic signs will direct those arriving from the Bukit Timah Expressway end of Turf Club Avenue. Please follow those signs to the public parking area at the Singapore Turf Club.

We regret any inconvenience caused by the new parking arrangements. However, upon parking at the Singapore Turf Club, clearly identified guides will direct members of the public to Kranji Cemetery.

We kindly request that you follow the direction of these guides. We expect that the walk will take around 20 minutes. Please ensure you depart the Car Park after the Service no later than 8:45am.

Those travelling by taxi to the commemoration are requested not to alight at the entrance road to Kranji Cemetery but to alight at the bus stop approximately 30 metres past the Kranji War Cemetery entrance road.

See the map below for directions to the Car Park.

The commemoration will last approximately one hour. It is likely to be humid. You may wish to consider bringing a small bottle of water should you require a drink during the service.
