Singapore has emerged as the top investor in the Australian property market.
According to a CBRE report that was released on 26 September 2014, Singapore has invested more than S$6.68 billion (A$6 billion) in the commercial real estate sector since 2005.
This accounts for about 28 per cent of the net foreign investment made in Australia.
Germany is at the second position with 14 per cent investment, followed by the United States with 13 per cent investment.
Australia has entered into a free trade agreement with Singapore in 2003. It was Australia’s first free trade agreement since the Closer Economic Relations Trade Agreement with New Zealand came into force in 1983.
