The annual Movember campaign is back to Singapore this year with the theme ‘Made in Movember’. The Singapore campaign was officially launched on 25 September 2014. This is its third year in Singapore.
The Australian High Commission Singapore proudly participates in this year’s Movember and shows its support for the charity movement by starting a team which is led by the High Commissioner Philip Green.
Movember is an annual month-long charity initiative originated in Melbourne. It encourages men to grow a Mo (slang for moustache) for the whole of November and effectively become walking and talking billboards for commonly unspoken men’s health issues including prostate cancer and depression.
Funds raised in Singapore support the Singapore Cancer Society and are distributed directly to the areas of awareness and education, survivorship, research and health aid for men living with prostate cancer.
About Movember
Since its humble beginnings in 2003 in Melbourne, when 30 Mo Bros first grew moustaches, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement, inspiring more than 4 million Mo Bros (men who grow a Mo) and Mo Sistas (women who love a Mo) to participate across 21 countries worldwide.
To date, over 1.13 million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas have raised $166,355,200 to change the face of men’s health.
