The G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting was held in Cairns, Australia from 19 to 21 September 2014.
Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, represented Singapore in the meeting.
The meeting delivered strategies that will achieve 1.8 percent of additional growth across the global economy.
The 10 key points discussed at the meeting are as follows:
1. Growth in the global economy
2. Increase in collective GDP by more than 2 percent
3. Normalisation of monetary policy
4. Economic growth and job creation
5. Global infrastructure initiative
6. Stronger and more resilient financial system
7. Financial regulatory reforms
8. Cross-border tax avoidance and evasion
9. Strong and adequately resourced IMF
10. Ebola epidemic
