About 400 world business leaders gathered in Sydney on Wednesday for Business 20 (B20) Australia Summit.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott opened the conference with a keynote address.
The B20, which is headed by Wesfarmers Managing Director, Richard Goyder, mainly focuses on jobs creation and human capital. The other priority areas include infrastructure, financing growth and trade.
Business leaders will be using the platform to discuss and finalise their policy recommendations for this year’s G20 Leaders Summit in Brisbane.
The B20, held from 16 July – 18 July, is expected to outline its final policy recommendations to G20 leaders on the last day of the conference. The G20 meeting is set to take place in Brisbane this November.
About B20
The Business 20 (B20) is a forum through which the private sector produces policy recommendations for the annual meeting of the Group of 20 (G20) leaders.
The B20 brings together business leaders from across G20 member countries to reflect the key role of the private sector as the main driver of strong, sustainable and balanced growth.
