Tony Abbott officially became the 28th Prime Minister of Australia at a swearing-in ceremony in Canberra on Wednesday, while Julie Bishop is the new Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The new government was sworn in by Governor-General Quentin Bryce at Government House.
Ms Bishop, the country's 38th Foreign Minister and highest-ranking diplomat, also takes on the role of Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, while Andrew Robb is the new Minister for Trade and Investment.
