Australia wishes LKY a happy 90th birthday

The Australian Government's gift to former Singaporean PM Mr Lee Kuan Yew for his 90th birthday was a photo album of him with each Australian PM he has met, since Gough Whitlam.

The album was delivered to LKY on the day of his birthday - 16 September - and included a letter from Australian High Commissioner to Singapore, Philip Green.

LKY, a revered and respected figure, is regarded as the 'Father of Singapore'.

The photo album presented to LKY included signatures and personal messages from the former Australian PMs. John Howard took the opportunity to describe LKY as a "giant in our region".
