POSITION VACANT: INVESTIGATIVE ASSISTANT - AUSTRALIAN LOCALLY ENGAGED STAFF (LES) - AUSTRALIAN FEDERAL POLICE
The position is offered on a permanent part time basis of three days per week. Normal office hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday and flexibility is preferable. Occasional overtime may be required. Monthly salary will be SGD1917.60 for part time role. An additional 1.5 month’s salary is paid annually in December.
The security clearance for this position involves a very stringent process and therefore you must be an Australian Citizen to apply. The successful applicant will not be able to commence in the position until the clearance has been confirmed and this process is expected to take some months. The position is for an immediate start once the suitable clearances have been obtained.
DUTY STATEMENT
1. Provide investigative and administrative support to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Counsellor (Police Liaison), Singapore Office. This includes:
• actioning workflow based on current office priorities
• displaying initiative and a proactive approach to tasks
• engaging with key office stakeholders; and
• developing correspondence on policy, legislation and operational issues.
2. Become proficient in using the AFP information and communications technology. Utilise the database to receive and respond to tasks, including data input, data extraction and associated duties to ensure data integrity.
3. Support the Office Manager in administration of the office, organising events and liaising with stakeholders. This includes undertaking the Office Manager’s duties during periods of absence/leave.
4. Continually review existing office procedures and where appropriate recommend changes that improve efficiency and effectiveness of the operation of the office.
5. Maintain an Australian Government top secret security clearance.
It is expected that the successful applicant will have:

SELECTION CRITERIA
• Applicants must be Australian citizens and hold or be able to obtain an Australian Top Secret security clearance. Applicants must also demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and adherence to security classification protocols.
• Possess sound interpersonal, oral and written skills.
• Demonstrated experience in office administration and financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to perform roles with limited supervision, display initiative and apply these capabilities to meet role requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse team.
• Ability to develop a sound understanding of the AFP information and technology systems.

The Australian High Commission will establish a Selection Advisory Committee (SAC) to assess applications, conduct interviews, check referee reports and prepare a report for the delegate recommending the most suitable applicant.
