High Commission celebrates Australia Day
The formalities finish with a bang as 800 balloons cascade from the ceiling
January 28th 2016 saw the Australian High Commission celebrate Australia Day once again, with a spectacular evening event. Over 500 guests packed into our atrium for an ‘Epicurean Adventure’ – showcasing the best of Australian produce in Singapore.
We were honoured by the presence of the Acting Minister of Education Mr Ong Ye Kung, and by that of two Members of Parliament – Dr Lily Neo and Mr Melvin Yong.
Together with the High Commissioner Philip Green, Mr Ong took to the stage to celebrate the special relationship between Australia and Singapore. The High Commissioner spoke about the ongoing commitment to innovation now enshrined in policy by both countries and the need for such a commitment for dynamic nations such as Australia and Singapore.
