LIQUIDS ON A PLANE

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRAVELLERS

Rules for taking liquids, aerosols and gels through security onto international flights

All airplane passengers on flights travelling into and out of Australia will be required to observe rules relating to the contents of carry-on luggage:

* each container of liquids, aerosols or gels must be 100ml or less in volume

* all containers must be sealed in a transparent, one-litre plastic bag; only one of these bags is allowed on board per person

You may still carry prescription medicines through the airport screening point. Products for babies and non-prescription medicines needed for the flight are allowed; proof of need may be required.

Please note: you must surrender any liquids, aerosols or gels that are greater than 100ml in volume, including duty free purchases, at the airport screening point. Random 'frisk searches' are part of the screening process under these new rules.
